I have a 89 cherokee with the 13 gal fuel tank that needs to be replaced because the internal baffle came loose, was wondering how hard it would be to replace it with the 20 gal tank? what parts would i need besides the tank and straps???

Good question man I got the same tank and was wanting to upgrade just to have more go go juice out in the hills.

 

yea my thoughts too, i think the only down fall would be the ground clearance!

 

Might require some looking into but I think (not for sure) the XJ's are like the YJ in that all tanks are the same size just the difference is in the pickup tube.

Like I said I'm not 100% sure though..

I know that the YJ's are like that and so are many other car's and such on the road..

I would think all you would need is a 20 gal tank and straps then the proper fuel pump and you'd be set.

 

Should be, I guess I'm the lucky one my '89 XJ has the 20 gal tank...
