In the process of replacing all the hoses that make up the fuel system delivery (in-coming and return). Purchased ID 5/16 300-PSI fuel injection hose with fuel injector clamps as well as 5/16 quick connect for the fuel rail. I noticed in viewing pictures of the fuel sending unit the fuel delivery line is larger than the return. It appears the fuel delivery connection from the sending unit is larger maybe 3/8 to the fuel filter. Is the complete system ID 5/16? Or the is the fuel delivery hoses ID 3/8 and the return ID 5/16. Thank you.

 

Here is the skinny. The fuel inlet size is 3/8 so you need a 3/8 connector to the fuel rail. Down the frame rail is another connector 3/8 that goes back to the filter. Again, filter to tank 3/8. The return line from the fuel rail is 15/16 that goes into the return line that is 3/8 so you need an adapter from 15/16 to 3/8. That 3/8 return line then goes into the fuel pump for the return. What interesting is the return steel line is 3/8, but it connects to the sending unit at 15/16. Hope that helps.
