So a few months ago I took the Jeep into the shop to get an alignment done and it just so happened I was pulling up to the shop I started to leak gas...
They took a look at it and said the washer (might have said lock washer) on the fuel sending unit was bad and that you can't buy just the washer you need to buy the whole unit which was like $120 bucks. The shop said they could prolly just bend/hammer it back into shape and see if that worked.
Well that worked until just recently... I was in the process of installing my gas skid and I halfway dropped the tank (didn't know I didn't need to drop it at the time) and right now my tank is being supported by my floor jack. At the same time I was converting over to an open cooling system so I had the cooling system finished up today and had the jeep running and I just noticed that I'm leaking gas again... Not a lot but enough to notice it...
Could this washer be bad again? Or could it maybe be just because I don't have the gas tank bolted right up how it should be?
Thanks!
Jake

Are you sure its leaking from the lock ring? Bleed pressure in the lines and clean and dry everything really good. Then get a buddy to turn the key so it primes and pressures the system while you watch underneath with a flashlight for leaks.

Got the tank back in place today... very difficult with a floor jack, bottle jack and a full tank of gas.... Doesn't appear to be leaking so I'm thinking it could have been the angle of the tank...? I'll be keeping a close eye on it though...
