I'm just wondering if anyone knows if any xj fuel pumps from different years can be swapped. I have an 89 renix so I'm guessing maybe only renix can switch?

Reason I ask is my fuel pump went out and parts store doesn't have one for an 89 in stock, but has newer ones. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

 

i looked up a few part numbers and from 87-90 they all use E7091S, at 91 it changed to a different "model" (through autozone)

 

one out of a 91 will still work, but dont do it unless you want your gas gauge reading in reverse!
