Fuel Pump - Rubber Nub

Fuel Pump - Rubber Nub
Removed my fuel pump yesterday and noticed that the metal tube did not have a rubber nub attached at the bottom. Did the 1994 Jeep Cherokee pump have one?

Removed the tank today the rubber nub was stuck in the metal sleeve attached to the bottom of the tank. I removed the nub from the tank attached to end of fuel pump everything went to back together Thanks
