Fuel Pump hissing

Fuel Pump hissing
My fuel pump hisses like a snake. The jeep runs fine and the fuel pump works but it hisses like a snake very loud. I don't have carpet in my jeep at the current time so it's very noticeable. Do all XJ fuel pumps do this? Will it go away after carpet is put in?
