I have a 96 xj, 4.o, that I am replacing the fuel pump. I cannot seem to get it lined up with the tank seal as well and all buttoned up. Its just too tight in there, so I decided to remove the tank for two reasons. The first is to make sure the seal is on right and there are no leaks and the second is to raise the vent tube. So my question is how do you separate the wiring connector going from the pump to the unibody? The red tab moved from one side to the other, but is there something else keeping it from coming apart?
