Default Fuel Pump advice

Planning on replacing the fuel pump assembly. Sending unit is definitely bad, so I need the complete assembly vs just the pump. It doesn't appear that the sending unit is available separately? Pump is likely going bad too, long crank starts.

Carter is $182.79 (RockAuto)
Airtex is $76.45 (Amazon)
Spectra Premium is $85.79 (appears to be identical to Airtex)

Now from research I know the Airtex pump is not worth buying, but what about the sending unit? I could buy the whole assembly AND a Bosch or Carter pump and save about $60+ vs just buying the whole Carter assembly. I hate to drop almost 2 bills on a complete assembly if I don't need to.

Best off to spring for an entire assembly as long as you're at it. I won't install separate components any longer; if one piece is failing, others are not far behind.

Work some overtime and spring for a Bosch or a Carter. Never install an Airtex. Never.

Definitely doing the whole assembly. Even though I don't have to drop the tank on an XJ like I've had to on other rigs, I see no reason to get into the tank more than once!
Based off of my research, I wouldn't ever install an Airtex pump. My question was more along the line of whether or not it would be a good idea to use the Airtex or Spectra full assembly, but preemptively toss that pump and use the Bosch one with it. As far as I can tell everyone's complaint with Airtex had to do with the pump itself, and haven't run across any info on the Spectra.
