fuel pump ? on a 96

I have a 96 cherokee with the straight 6. If the pump is good and the fuel pump relay is good. I there a relay that is for priming.i was told it is the starter relay.It has a fuel pump primmer circuit in the starter relay.We straight wired the pump to get it to work .

there is a regulator at the tank along with your pump and filter....depending on you problem, you may consider if the tank is the original and you've got it down, look inside and make sure there is no erosion...jeep tanks are notorious for breaking down from the inside and causing all kinds of issues before you know it's the tank causing it! if need be, replace it or have it boiled while you are at it.

no the tank is fine. goodyear mach. told me it has 2 relays one for when youy turn the key on it primes the fuel pressure for like 3 sec.then you hit the start circuit and it changes to the other relay.i have got to replace the tank oring to. you cant put more than a 1/2 tank of gas in it.
