fuel pump
MY buddy has the same year as me and we can't get his the locking seal thing (real technical) off. it wont turn counter clockwise.... Anyone got any ideas before we take the tank off and try it by its self?
WD40, etc will most likely eat the rubber.
I have never had to take the pump out, but I have heard people recommend putting a steel pipe on one of the locking tabs and smacking the pipe with a hammer...

wd40 for the most is non-corrosive as is pb as far as eatin rubber
take an air hose to the area to get rid of any crap that could fall in
the ring has to spin counter clockwise use a rubber/plastic mallet an a brass punch to persuade it to move
don't use anything that could create a spark
