I have a 99 cherokee that was purchased in 2005 and we have had very little trouble with. So we are happy jeep owners. In fact we have two. The other is a 1988 grand wagoneer. Grandpa's old jeep with 37000 miles on it.

Back to the 99 cherokee fuel problem. Recently while accelerating the car would act like it wasn't getting gas. It would kind of lurch forward and stop and then lurch forward while going about 20-30 mph. I went to the parts store and learned that their is no inline gas filter to change and the tank needs to be pulled and fuel pump replaced. The problems seem to occur at lower speeds and a little more often when vehicle is cold. I pored in my gas tank a product called k100g that is known to dissolve the corroded junk in the tank and clear out the fuel pump. Overall it didn't seem to work but things are a little better. Do I need a different product? Or do I have a different problem? Or. do I need to just hunker down and change the fuel pump? Thanks
