I have an 8/95 build date. Early but I doubt early enough. I got off work late and have to be back at 6am so my research is going to have to wait till tomorrow.

Makes ya wonder why they use check valves if that's the case, and why there's the "poor man's prime". Your magic powers must make the difference I suppose. In all my years of working on XJs, only 30 years, I've never experienced an instant start on a system with no pressure.
What do you mean no ignition cycling? LOL. Simple. If it's bleeding off in a half hour it most likely is an insignificant leak. A properly working fuel pump puts out more than enough to over compensate for that. I work trucks for a living. Including jeeps. Most systems are very similar. Say roughly 20 -50 lbs to start a fi vehicle. Unless you have a rather large leak (hole) a good working fuel pump with the minimum of two cycles can charge the lines, filter, injectors from the tank back. Often in one cycle.

The only way it would need to crank over multiple times is if there was another issue. Be it spark, injectors, vacuum leak, crank or cam sensor, low compression, timing or a bad fuel pump.

Bleeding off in a half hour is SIGNIFICANT. You shouldn't have to cycle if everything is hunky-dorey. Multiple cranks are VERY common with bad injectors and bad fuel pump check valves. Read the forums. Where do you get your info? From a Cracker Jack box or out of mid-air?

I've never experienced an instant start on any of my Jeeps, period.

Fortunately I don't have to rely on "forums" for correct information. Doing so I would have starved a long time ago. I get paid to fix things. Correcting fallacy on the net is just a free bee. Hobbyist fortunately can afford to be wrong. At times they have great contributions also. Many of which I have benefited from.

All the best.

Well, I got paid to fix things on Jeeps also. I wonder how we had the highest Customer Satisfaction Index in the Southwest and were the first Five Star dealer. Musta been listening to bull**** from guys like you instead of the guys at Jeep Tech, eh? Are you fixing them or just giving the customers the same lines of **** you post here?

If you have a clue, AND, we're honest enough to look at what I was saying instead of making an argument we most likely would agree on most things.

If you have neither then no big deal. We can just agree to disagree.

My info doesn't come from forums. It comes from years of real world experience from the release of the XJs until now. I had, and still have, access to the field engineers at Jeep. I know what's real and what's not. You may be able to bamboozle those less aware, but not me.

I am always up for a profitable discussion and to learn things.. But not to see who's pelvic area is the largest.

I understand how this stuff works. Your pride and misconceptions/lies perpetuate your arguments.

How can you learn things when you already know it all in your mind?

What you're saying is exactly the opposite of my 30 years of hands on experience. Sorry, can't buy it and I certainly won't sit still so you can propagate your egotistical agenda on to poor unsuspecting folks seeking accurate advice and help. Goes against my grain. Prove your point with a video.
