From tank to filter on my '96. Just changed the filter and that hose isn't in the best of shape. Where can I get a replacement?
Been awhile since I had '96. Doesn't the '96 just use hose clamps on both sides for the fuel filter? How is it attached to the fuel pump? Hose clamp or quick connect? Thinking you just need some hose. Fuel of course in the proper size.
I replaced my filter on my 96, and didn't replace that little piece of hose. Started her up and had a gusher of a leak. It is a short piece of 3/8 hose I think maybe 5/16. And hose clamps... marine stainless would be my diptard suggestion
I also need to replace the short section of hose on the outlet side of the filter. But I really could use the one from the tank to the inlet side of the filter. It's held on by a clamp at the tank. My understanding is the hose is premolded and of different diameters at the tank and filter. As far as clamps go I put my stash of fuel injection clamps somewhere so I wouldn't lose them. There lost. The spring clamps that come with the filter won't withstand the pressure and will leak big time.

The different diameters could be a problem. The premolded part probably not. Won't know till you yank it off and look.
I'm usually pretty good at locating parts or at least info online but I've only seen one mention of it. That's where I came up with the premolded info. There is a sharp bend just as it enters the tank is probably the reason. Yea I may end up having to pull it and take a look. The end at the filter is very gummy if you know what I mean.

Assuming I am looking at my '96 parts catalog correctly it appears to be a non serviceable part but it is one confusing page. Going by the description it looks like #4. Filter to Injector Pump. Looking at the diagram it looks like #4 2X and #15. So there are 3 pieces in hose in there? That does not seem right. But #15 is described as Fuel Return Tube To Tank. But yet looks like it goes to a ghosted image of the fuel filter.
Never use a regular hose clamp on a pressure line it's not worth the chance.
ETA:
If you have to replace rubber fuel injection hose pass on the Ebay-Amazon/big box stuff, you can buy Gates barrier hose at NAPA. It's not only the snit but made in the USA as well.

Just happened to remember that the fuel pump was replaced before I got the XJ. So I just checked it out. The hose on mine isn't molded. Maybe the molded one was replaced for some reason with std hose. Only one hose from pump to filter as you can see in the pic. The filter does take two different size hoses though. I'll pull and replace them tomorrow.
