why replace your 20 year old hose that's leaking with another 20 year old hose? When it comes to important things like fuel lines there is no point cheaping out.

If your talking about the tank end on my xj it was just a 1-2 foot length of fuel hose available for cheap at any auto parts store. Might as well replace the other hose while your down there. Mine was held on with regular hose clamps, so unless the previous owner changed them out before (which I doubt since they had what I'm assuming to be the original undercoating on them), or if 93 was different from your 90, it should be a straight forward, quick job.

This hose connects right to the fuel rail and has that fitting... I rather take the risk of finding on that fits rather one that is made in China. Jeeps are made to last forever, im not worried at all with old parts

Here Joe'sXJ let me try,

Ok guys so im thinking about replacing my fuel lines. I dont have a leak that i know of. Its a 96. I did my fuel filter , fuel pump. and did my rear brake hardline. I did not how ever pay attention when i did my pump or filter and have no idea of hose condittion or how they route to the front and thru the pump/filter combo.
What do i need to do? Is it hoses from pump to filter, then filter to the front? Are there rubber hoses on some and steel on other sections of line? (like rubber pump>filter, steel filter>rail?)

How about how it connects to the rail itself? I wanna get some preventative maintenance done and this seems like a good area. I dont wanna go wheeling with a iffy fuel line somewhere

Before you go replacing one problem with another, where is it leaking from? If it's leaking from where the fuel lines (supply or return) connect to the fuel rail, replacing the fuel line isn't going to get you anything. The lock clips and o-rings in your junkyard fuel line are probably in worse shape than the ones you're replacing and even if they're not, they will be by the time you finish pulling them from the donor.

The fuel line compression clips and o-rings (Viton) are available at any auto parts store for pretty cheap, I just replaced mine last week and it cost around $10 for a package of (6) 5/16ths fuel line compression fittings and a plastic tub of assorted Viton o-rings.

If your hard fuel line is damaged then yes, replace it (you'll still need new clips and o-rings) but if not, don't create the headache.

For flexible fuel lines, buy a few feet of it from the parts store and cut it to length, pull the old stuff off and put the new on. Bulk hose is cheap... and NEW.

Oh, and yes, you should be concerned about fuel dripping from the return line since the fuel rail/return line junction sits right over an unshielded portion of your header (on a '90 Renix). I wouldn't drive it, period. If you do, you're asking for a fire.

Make sure you release pressure in the fuel rail by pressing the pin in the shrader valve on the fuel rail, put a rag under it so that it will catch any fuel that drips out. Then put that rag under the return line before you disconnect it, quite a bit of fuel will spill from there when it's disconnected.

And do this work on a cold engine.

Plus the new hose at the parts stores should now be ethanol-resistant.

You must not be really concerned about you Jeep going up in flames if you are willing to put a old hose to replace a old one. That really makes no sense. Leaking fuel is something you really don't want to take a chance with.
