Hello all! I recently just filled my had tank and the gauge stopped between 3/4 and full, could this be a bad gauge or sending unit? Or both? Thanks for any help

Its the sending unit fingers. Over time and sometimes even brand new one will go out quick. There are little metal finger that ride on a resistance board when full no resistance when empty resistance. Three ways to deal with it, first you can drop the tank and bend the fingers closer on the board carefully not breaking them. Two drop tank replace sending unit or replace float assembly. There leave it alone and just your trip odd for gas. The light will should still come on when about 5 gallons left.
