I have a 1993 Xj and my fuel gauge reads empty 24/7, what could possibly be causing this? Anyone else experience this before that could help me out?
(And yes, I have filled up the tank lol)
Thanks,
Mike

Yep. that's the most likely cause. Could also be bad wiring between the sending unit and the gauge, or a bad gauge.
But the sending unit is the prime suspect. Grab a wiring diagram for the beast and find out which wires in the fuel pump harness are for the sending unit. You should be able to do some testing to see if you can get the gauge to register.
Does your year have the pump in the tank? If it does, you might as well replace the whole unit, if it turns out to be the sending unit.
