Default Fuel gauge problem

I've posted it before but have had no responce. I was just wondering if anyone would know the fix to a fuel gauge that moves around when driving. The needle goes toward E when I accellerate and when I brake hard it goes toward F. It is also reading 2 gallons less than it should. Is it a sending unit or is it just the gauge.

If there's no solution, could he put a capacitor on the gauge wire to stabilize the signal? I know some guys have had luck doing this with the TPS signal wire to smooth out running issues. I'd at least give it a shot if I had that problem. I think the TPS problem is solved with a 100uf capacitor, but don't quote me on that number.

Thanks for the tip. If the TSB looks like it'll be a lot of work to get the issue fixed, I'll take a trip up to radio shack and grab a capacitor. Sounds like a cheap fix too!

Wow I can't believe I missed that one! I'm constantly printing out TSB's when I have nothing to do in auto shop. I'll search it up on Alldata on monday.

Get an assortment of capacitors because the 100uf may be to little or to much for you

If you find something that works, please post it, I'm sure there are other guys who would like to know how to fix this. Especially if theres a TSB out on it. Good luck

Does anyone know what the TSB was? (I'm assuming that stands for Technical Service Bulletin or similar)
