Default Fuel gauge inaccuracy problem

Just wondering if anyone else has this same issue. My fuel level gauge reads pretty inaccurately. I get about 210 miles per tank. I zero out my trip odometer after every fill up, and after the first 150 miles my fuel gauge reads about a half tank... Then after 50-60 more miles I'm on E and fill her up another 18+ gallons. Not really a big deal, I'm just surprised at the difference between the first half of the tank and the second. Not sure if there is some kind of calibration maybe?

Sending unit in the tank, most likely. They get weird. Mine was doing the same thing earlier this year, then on its own went back to a fairly normal operation.

This is one of the reasons that people who think they can judge fuel economy by the gauge just don't know what they are talking about.

It always gets my hopes up. Maybe one day that second half of the tank will make it another 150 miles haha

Get your registration or title in hand and do a search for recalls on your rig. There was a recall that pertain to the sending unit. You might get this repaired for free at your favorite dealership.
