Ok getting ready to replace my fuel filter and then read on the box ***Warning Fuel system pressurized release fuel system pressure before servicing*** I have a 1993 is there something that i have to do to release the pressure??? Also not sure which end faces the engine one end says out but thats it. heres a picture of it. thanks for all the help.
The fuel pump is in the tank and pushes the fuel to the engine. The theory of the design leaves some residual fuel pressure in the line when the engine turns off. Simply remove the fuse to the fuel pump and start the engine. The engine will stumble and die from a lack of fuel which will remove any pressure from the fuel line. From memory, when I changed my filter, there was a little arrow painted or stamped on the filter indicating the direction of flow.
