Need to know where fuel filter is on 98 XJ Sport! Not on the fuel line!
Replaced fuel pump already!
When you drive it the gas bogs down sometimes and starts jumping like its out of gas! NEED HELP!!

 

97+ doesn't have a fuel filter. Filtration is part of the pump assembly and is designed to last the life of the pump.

Check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail first.

Check your injectors and clean or replace them if necessary.

 

Any check engine light? If so, you must retrieve codes and use those codes as a roadmap to the proper repair.

Fuel pressure spec on your 98 is 49 psi, plus or minus 5. Test it. Must be done with a fuel pressure gauge; no guesswork. Fuel pressure gauges can be rented from many parts stores; call around.

And yup, filter is part of the "fuel pump assembly" and is not replaced unless testing/symptoms point directly to it. So if you replaced the entire fuel pump assembly recently, you have replaced the filter.
