I have a 97 Cherokee sport. When getting the front wheel bearing off dumb *** me rounded the end of the bolts. I want to replace them but can't find any info on replacement bolts. Anyone know where I can find bolts? or at least what size they are?

M8-1.25x whatever the old ones are (have you gotten one out yet?)

Replace with socket head capscrews - hex heads may be a bit large, and socket heads will be easier to remove.

Thanks for responding….

Got one out but screwed up the other two. Going to get a heat wrench and get them out. For now (since it’s my daily driver) I just put it back together. I needed the bolt size so I can replace them once I get them out.

Just one last question. Are they case hardened?

Case hardened screws of any variety are rare - and usually only found in old firearms anyhow. Most screws are through hardened and tempered.

They have a unique shoulder profile- a dealer only item. I don't know if you need these exact bolts or could use a hardened replacement. If 5-90 says you can use generic bolts, safe to say it's OK. A dealer will charge anywhere from $9 to $10 per bolt.

I just got finished going through wheel bearing hell.

You're talking about the 3 12-point bolts, right? I had to replace mine, and got them from the Chrysler dealer. They didn't have them in stock, but ordered them in 2 days, no problem. List on them is $7 each, but I managed to get them for 4.60 each due to a relative who works there.
