worset part is getting the trans back up into place. the seal is easy as pie. check the nose of the torque converter for scarring and grooves. If the seal went then there is a good chance you will find some marks of where the seal was riding. Check the converter for cracks. Not a normal issue but would contribute to it.

If the torque converter does have gouges and ridges you can use some light emery or sand paper to get a good clean face if they gouges arent deep. If they are deep then a bushing could be put on it to give it a clean face for the seal to ride on.

Takes about 4 hours if your on your toes and have the right tools even less if your fast and everything goes right.

Lastly, use some oil or light grease on the seal to help it with break in. If you dont lube the seal edge then the first couple of miles will heat up that seal and cause it to fail prematurely and make sure that when you align the converter nose to the pump its seated right. Ive seen a few where they werent seated properly and it stripped the converter nose as well as the pump. you should feel it drop into place and there will be a little movement. if its not in place right the rans will fight you getting it bolted up. Hope this helps..

Keep us posted on what happens.. Make sure that you thoroughly check the TC for any cracks and while your there check the flex plate too. nows the time to replace if teeth are work or if it looks like its cracked.

also fill the TC with fluid and try to rinse out all the old stuff dump then refil with clean Fluid. Hope it goes snag free and easy as pie.
