There’s absolutely not enough room to file it down

Carefully, it's gotta be tight. 6 pt socket again.

Take a photo, let's see which one's left.

I can only get an open ended wrench on this thing. The socket WITH the wrench won’t fit. I tried an extension with a swivel but can’t get a good enough bite or angle.

IIWM I'd be welding the wrench to the bolt head to break it, but I guess that doesn't help you.

Got a small sharp cold chisel? I'd try to loosen the bolt by catching a little bit of the side and whacking it.

If you grind off the bolt head will there be enough bolt left to grab with vise grips?

No welder
The hole in the “collar” doesn’t appear to be threaded. I’m thinking if I can cut off the head the bolt shaft won’t have anything to hold onto. But I better make sure that’s the case. I could also try and drill the head off.
Tried vise grips but not enough room to turn the bolt.
This is a bad situation

the only tool to use is a ring spanner, those bolts have blue loctite on them

if the corners are badly rounded, I would either weld the spanner on, or get the next size down 12 point ring spanner, (7mm) and pound it over the fastener head

I think I’ll run to harbor freight today and get a set of these. I had thought of pounding a 7mm socket on but can’t fit the wrench in there.
The other 3 bolts weren’t terribly difficult to loosen.

If you cannot find them maybe a line wrench would work. Also first time I've heard them called spanner wrench I've also called them offset boxed in but spanner wrench sounds better!

This is what I'm telling you, driveshaft components can be replaced, it's 3 ujoints, and that ball component. You can buy them together in a kit.

Thats the same person I bought mine from when I replaced all of mine couple years back.

I’m thinking holding up the free end of the drive with a jack stand would be a good idea to take pressure off this bolt while trying to loosen it

The driveshaft is off. Used a cutting wheel and grinded it flush with the yoke. Whacked it with a hammer a couple times and she was free.
Took her for a spin and the click click noise most audible when slowing to a stop is gone.
Unfortunately we still have a wobble. Will have the wife turn the steering wheel back and forth while tires are on the ground this time for resistance. If I don’t see anything I’ll take the front tires to garage to check balance.
The $30+ in tools I got at Harbor Freight didn’t do a thing. I’m sure I’ll use them sometime.

The only movement I see is the bushing on the one end of the track bar, drivers side.
Bad track bar bushings will cause a wobble.

Who agrees with me that I will have to replace the track bar??

Or can I easily replace just bushings??

I’m looking at a Moog for $60. It’s about midrange in price. This is a stock XJ so I don’t need anything crazy.

Moog DS1235 Track Bar, 1 Pack
