Front Skidplate and lower engine barrier
Hello Everyone,
I wanted to get people's opinions on the engine bay. I removed my stock front skidplate and the tarpaper like barrier for the engine bay.I got tired of dealing with the skid plate when I wanted to tighten my lower hose clamp. To investigate if my 6 yr old lifetime pump is failing/weeping. I figured removing the skid plate and lower barrier wouldn't hurt it but improve under hood temps. Just wanted to get some feedback. I've never heard of anyone I know with a jeep driving around without the barrier. As for the skid plate, I don't offroad or anything so I don't see the purpose of having on there.

I cut off the rubber piece, the only thing that does is allow a place for dirt and rocks to collect. Plus cleaning or working on the engine area is more difficult and usually dirty because of it.
I took my front skid off too. It doesn't bother me because my aftermarket bumper is pretty HD and goes under a bit.
I am going to sell mine, it has some new paint:
