1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport

The metal base of my driver's seat is cracked, so the seat is wobbly. Can I remove the seats &bases, remove the seats and backs, and mount the seat and back from the driver side on the base from the passenger side? If I can do this, I'll then take the base from the driver side somewhere to have it welded. Thanks.

 

Or instead of that go to a junkyard and get new seats...i paid $65 for front and rear complete

 

I took my driver's side seat out of my 92 Cherokee, took the bottom cushion off, left the back on, took it to a 4x4 salvage yard. He welded the two cracked bottom support brackets back to the round tube seat frames, and I'm back in business. Only charged me $20. An AZ, PHX area yard.

PS. My other(passenger) seat electric motor stopped working, it comes on, but only grinds, I think gears stripped. I can't find replacement parts, any ideas?
