Front end screech
There is a metal on metal screeching sound coming from the front of my 2000 sport which is all stock. It happens when i first start driving (around 20mph) and continues for a few miles until the drive train warms up. It is independent of the engine and increases with speed not rpms. Sound occurs in neutral while coasting and also while in 4wd. Oddly enough it seems to be worse the colder it is outside.
Wheel bearing? Doubt it would make that sound but I could be wrong.
Drive shaft?
Transfer case?
Differential?
Any ideas, thanks.

This is very hard to pin down. 1st are you sure all your fluids are full and dont need to be changed (ie: burned up fluids). My only other thought is start draining the fluids in your front diff, transfercase, tranny and rear diff and look for metal shavings. Remove your wheels and look for metal shavings at the hubs. Other than that, Im really at a loss for ideas. Good Luck!!
