I have a 96 with the stock 30 and 35. My brakes needed to be replaced and I had a broken ujoint on the pass side. I bought new rotors and pads and inspected the calipers. Drivers side went smoothly and everything mounted up correctly and was functional. On pass side I unbolted the hub and pulled the axle out to replace the ujoint. After putting it back and bolting it up I tried to put the new rotor on. However, something is off because it is sitting to close to the steering knuckle and surrounding area. The rotor would now severely rub.
The hub/bearing assembly seemed fine. Is something bent that is causing it to do this. Any suggestions? thanks

No the new are the same and putting the old rotor on results in the same rubbing problem. And no lol the rotor is not on backwards to whoever said that.

Did you replace the hub, seems like the hub is the only thing between the knuckle and the rotor if I'm thinking of it correctly. If you didn't replace the hub are you sure it's on correctly?

I dont get. Its the same hub and axle that i pulled out together to replace the ujoint then i slid it back in making sure it seated properly and bolted it with the 3 hub bolts. Then wham rotor rubs as shown in picture. The old rotor when mounted does the same thing so I know for sure its not just the new rotor.

Looks like you got a long way left to go to seat the rotor? Did you compare em side to side? Sometimes they put the wrong motor in the right box. That's really all it could be from what I can tell
