Default Front End Rebuild

After all Ive been doing to my 88 Ive come to the conclusion that I need to rebuild front end. Brakes are totally rebuilt. Im thinking of doing ball joints, wheel bearings and tierods. Can anyone give me any suggestions or tips. Ive got Napa and the usual auto parts houses local. Id really like to get this thing fixed this week.

Moog components have less slack that others.

NAPA or O'Reilly's stuff is fine for what you want to do. Have fun.

How bout I just found a parts list I made from one of the more reputable parts houses here where I live. They told me $117 each on wheel bearing assemblies. Just found them on ebay for $68 for the pair with free shipping. Wow

Check out rockauto.com you'll save some money. I don't go to advance or napa anymore when I know Im gonna need a part (ie it's not something that breaks and I need the part immediately).

Be careful what you buy online.

You have to buy the whole hub assembly, not just wheel bearings.

Due diligence.

Www.rockauto.com will have name brands for a lot less money. I got both unit bearings and upper/ lower ball joints for both sides for 225 shipped to my door. Do not buy those cheap kits that are on eBay, they're all junk. I got both Timken unit bearings cheaper from rockauto than the price of one no name bearing from Orielly's. The ball joints were way cheaper too.

If you go to quadratech they have exploded views of the entire front end system. Very helpful for ordering parts from them or anyone else. I also recommend Rockauto. By far the cheapest and I've never had a problem with them.

yea rockauto.com, that's where I got 95% of my parts from too. I only do local when I don't want to or cant wait a week or more. bought my fan shroud from partsgeek.com,cause didn't see it on rockauto.

V8 ZJ tie rods are the beefy ones. The 4.0 ZJ stuff is the same as the XJ tie rods.

Got it all lined up to take to an old school alignment shop in the morning. Ive got parts located if he says components are worn out. Except Spicer axle ujoints and seals. Can anyone point me toward axle u joints and seals. While Im down that far I may as well change those also.
