front end noise

Just bought my first Cherokee, a 99 with the 4.0L engine. Periodically I hear a noise that is speed dependent (I dont hear it at a stop). It comes at different speeds, (around town to the highway), and sounds like a whining sound coming from the front end. Looking through the service records, I see where it was taken in because of noise it made on the highway. Anyway I came across this service bulletin for Grand Cherokees talking about a front end noise that describes mine to a T, but I want to make sure that this can happen to a Cherokee before I spend any money on it. Also does this seem like something that is eventually fatal, or will it just keep going as long as fluids are full?

Make take your concerns to a Jeep dealer with a print out of the service buletin.
