You need to get new control arms. Upper and lower, preferably adjustable ones. The stock arms are just to short to go that high.

You are definitely going to need longer adjustable arms. I am curious what lift kit you put on?? Most 6.5" kits come with longer control arms. If you are on stock arms I'd strong suggest going with a long arm setup.

The long arm setup reduces the angles of the control arms for a smoother ride and better flex offroad. If you build a custom set, it will be up to you to design and fab the correct length.

I think the cheapest thing he can do right now is to get a set of control arm drop brackets. That will take the angle out of his lower arms and move the axle forward and make it ride a lot better.

CA drop brackets cost almost as much as a full set of RC adjustables.

At 6" of lift, CA Drop or long arms, will help more than new short arms, ADJ or Non. OP, said he got new arms with the lift. Short arm don't adjust enought to completly solve the issues of 6"+ of lift.

X2 Long arms are the best answer, drop brackets the next best.

They are not too difficult to build but the materials should be pretty strong stuff. DOM tubing with thick walls. And 1/4" plate for the crossmember hinge point.
The only tricky point in the one that I assisted in building was the rusted up brake lines that needed to be replaced with longer ones.
