Hi guys, I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport with 145k on it. I have been having some grinding and vibration from the front of the car when I slowly brake, like in stop and go traffic. It will sometimes cause the car to pull on way or the other, and it can get to the point where it will rattle the plastic trim. I replaced the front hub/bearing assemblies 9 months ago. Could this be bad ball joints? I have no death wobble whatsoever ever, up to 90 mph. It has a 3 inch lift and 31’s by the way.

What have you physically checked so far? Get in there and start testing/looking at components. Ball joints, brakes, brake calipers (disassemble and check the piston for cracks/breakage), Wheel bearings, Control arm bushings, etc.

Clunking/grinding/angry coming from the wheel area is usually a broken pad. Pull the wheel off and start pulling off parts until you find it. I recently had a grinding/crunching when turning left hard and hitting bumps at the same time. I pulled over and looked in the wheel well and saw the top of my end link had broken off and the sway bar was grinding on it.
