Front end clicking
My '92 xj has a clicking sound somewhere in the front end..... you can't feel it, just hear it. It's only noticeable when you are moving slowly (like parking lots), and it speeds up as I get faster, then it gets covered up by the beautiful sound of an xj moving down the road. Any ideas on what this could be?

I also have a bad vibration at highway speeds. (like, when you hit 65, the passengers say: wow! i didnt know it had massage seats) Could these two be related?

I have a similar clicking, but I don't have a front drive shaft so it wouldn't be U-joints. It only happens in drive as opposed to sitting in park revving the engine. The sound parallels the RPM level. I was thinking Torque Converter or maybe something in the T-case. I originally removed the front DS due to the T-case making noises at low speeds. Any ideas? I don't mean to Hi-jack but I've posted this a couple other times with no responses.

When the CV joints or whatever you want to call them go bad, don't they make a clicking noise only when you turn? That's how it's been for me on previous vehicles. Plus mine is consistent with the RPM level. Higher the RPM, louder the noise.

we don't have CV joints on old ones, we have an actual u joint in the axle. But yes, if a cv is going out the outer cv will click when turning, if it clicks in a straight line under acceleration it's an inner cv (usually front wheel drive to have inner and outer)

Would that get louder and faster as the rpms get higher? Or just get faster and louder with speed? Because as soon as the tranny down shifts the sound gets quieter.
