Default Front Drive Shaft Rebuild Question.

This is not my picture, I just grabbed it off google, but what is the circled piece called? I am rebuilding my front drive shaft mainly because this piece is worn out so much it wont hold grease and rattles around.

From looking at google and this site, I can't find it in any rebuild kit or even what it is called.

I just pulled my shaft and took it to a local machine shop and had them rebuild the slip joint. They welded new splines on the main part of the drive shaft and replaced the slip joint then balanced it. Also it didn't cost all that much for them to do it.

I bet it was cheaper than buying a new shaft, and it's as good as new.

Oreilly's just said they have a new one for $290, it doesn't make any sense... rebuilding one would cost twice as much, I'm going to go talk to the power train shop and see what the hell is going on down there.
