So recently I started having a squeak coming from what sounded to be the front seal on my transfer case. So I took the jeep in yesterday to get it checked out and they said it was the CV joint on my front drive shaft squeaking from lack of grease. They said they could take it off and send it out to be rebuilt and greased for about $225. So I called up a local junkyard and they said they had a front drive shaft out of an 88 Cherokee and I was wondering if anyone knew if it would be a direct fit? And if so would I be better off just getting mine rebuilt or taking the chance with the junkyard?
