Hey, I have an 89 Cherokee with the Dana 30 Front diff. I have already replaced the vacuum actuator on it with a cable operated one. I was considering welding the front gears to make it posi but do not want to do this if its going to have any affects on steering in two wheel drive. Any suggestions?

 

Don't weld it

 

if you weld the spider gears and make it posi it should be a strictly off road vehicle if its not when you turn one of the tires will hop and your tires will wear down a lot faster just install a locker aussies a good one

 

you would definately kiick yourself in the a$$ if you weld it, if its your dd that is.

 

Not advisable on a DD unless you have manual locking hubs.
