Default Front ball joint replacement question - 99 XJ

Need to replace the driver side upper and lower ball joints and I already ordered the Spicer kit. I was just wondering before I get into this project, if the preload spacers are used still on the 99 XJs? I was told they did away with them in the newer models. If I need to use the spacer or set preload on this when I replace the ball joints, I will need the special sleeve tool to install it and set the torque correct? And I think the torque setting should be 50 ft lbs? And if so, what is the proper method to set the preload on that spacer nut?

Yea, it's the gold color spacer / insert nut to set preload that goes into the spot in the bottom of the steering knuckle on some Cherokee models, the spicer ball joint kit comes with it but I wasn't sure if that was used in a 99 xj like it is in the older model Cherokees.

Is there a reason for not doing both at the same time?

Drivers side is bad, passenger side isn't. I plan to do both but focused on the drivers side first as they are needed for inspection.

Also I ordered the Spicer upper and lower ball joint kit, does anyone know what size the upper and lower nut are? I want to make sure I have the proper sockets ready and will likely need to buy one for the lower Bc I think it's 32mm possibly but not sure.
