Default front axle ujoints

The ujoints in the front axle shafts are replaceable, correct? Mine have an incredible amount of play. Probably where my popping and binding is coming from.

Yep. Pull the wheel, the axle nut, the caliper, the rotor and then the hub. Pull the half shaft out and then press the u joint out of it. The spicer replacement part number is 5-760X.

Thanks for the quick response. Is it the same part # for both sides?

the spicer number is actually 5-297x.
the 760's are hard to get and discontinued from some catalogs and cost twice as much when anyone can get them.

hmmm, weird. up here they are twice as much as the 297's. most off brand 297's are about 35 bux a piece here, and spicer 760's are about 80 a piece.

but that's canada for ya.
