With all the snow we have been pounded with, the Cherokee has been getting a workout. It's a 2000, all stock. In deep snow, maybe 10-15", when I have it in 4 wheel, high or low, it sometimes has this horrible shuddering noise/movement. Feels like the axle is trying to come out from under the truck. Other times when trying out the 4x4 it worked fine.
In 2wd on the street everything feels fine, no noises or clunks anywhere. I was thinking bad bushings in the front control arms but I'd think it would make a clunk or something when driving in 2wd and hitting a pot hole or something like that. It does not. I'm hoping to put a 2" lift on this truck and some 30" tires but not if it's going to magnify this problem and cause more damage.
Any ideas? Thanks.
