I was wondering if someone could tell me what the white, yellow, and green hoses are that are hooked to my front axle, Im sure they are vaccum (what do they do) and I do see the same white, yellow, green, and red ones on my TC too. I just bought this xj two weeks ago and havnt even hit the dirt with it yet.
thanks for the help

Those hoses engage and disengage the front axle when you pull the 4wd lever. Check the crap out of those bad boys, if they leak you get no 4X4 (just a light that lies). They go to the vacuum canister inside the front bumper, check that too.

The reason the light still works, is that the light works off an electrical switch on the transfer case.
Here is a thread from the write-up section better explaining the operation of the vacuum disconnect.

if I have this right all it does is lock the left side axle together making it
4wd, does that mean that jeep put some kind of limited slip or locker up front, that would be the only reason I would see jeep puting that extra piece like this in. right

But that's not the truth. It was put in there to reduce wear and increase MPG. Problem is.. it didn't really work.

If I put in a full locker up front and used that to turn it on and off, I already found a way to get rid of the vaccum and put in a cable.
