Sorry, I should've said I've never seen one. At least not on a Cherokee.

Beautiful setup. That's gonna be able to take some serious abuse if you do it right.

What rubber do you plan on using? And what are your off road aims?

If he's planning on 38s I'd go with the 60 just for added security. I've broken a shaft in my front 44, which are chromos, running 35s.
Look at Rustys Offroad's XJ it has a 9" front axle. It is a Curry unit and cost about as much as building 2 60s.

^^ the 60 is the ideal front it's just alot to turn.. your 4.0 must have to work to twist all that wieght in any mud

love them. they're beefy and eric does a great job at fabbing.
i think these are the third set he made. i like them better than the claytons kit.

^yes, you need to run the same gear ratio front and rear (within a couple of thousands, for example 4.09 and 4.11 is fine and 3.54 with 3.55 is ok, but 3.55 and 3.73 are not.)

yes but thats easy...most who are doing axle swaps will do both..otherwise you just gotta do a gear change

the price difference between a d60 front and d44 front is crazy. you can get a ford hp44 for about 400 bux, but a d60 is at least 12-1400.

I spose. I got my '87 for $900 with a D44 rear and HP30 in the front. Not that great, but considering it had ARB lockers in the rear it was a nice find.

And just like my truck I'm sure your parts will need some TLC before just slapping them on your Jeep. I'm alright with that, some won't be.
