If he's planning on 38s I'd go with the 60 just for added security. I've broken a shaft in my front 44, which are chromos, running 35s.
Look at Rustys Offroad's XJ it has a 9" front axle. It is a Curry unit and cost about as much as building 2 60s.

correct me if im wrong but i thaught if you have dif gears in the front than the back it ****s **** up when your in 4x4 so yu would have to fine the same gear ratio as the stock one but in a dana 44 lets say?

i think these are the third set he made. i like them better than the claytons kit.
^yes, you need to run the same gear ratio front and rear (within a couple of thousands, for example 4.09 and 4.11 is fine and 3.54 with 3.55 is ok, but 3.55 and 3.73 are not.)

the price difference between a d60 front and d44 front is crazy. you can get a ford hp44 for about 400 bux, but a d60 is at least 12-1400.

guys, you just got to buy whole vehicles i bought the bronco that my 9in and 44 came out of for $500 no title rotted junk but... had those axles and a devorced t-case and other tid bits then i sold some stuff and junked the rest
And just like my truck I'm sure your parts will need some TLC before just slapping them on your Jeep. I'm alright with that, some won't be.
