ha ha looks like the 1985 cherokee wagoneer my mom just gave me. same 2.8 v6...supposedly an engine rebuild like 50,000 miles...has been sitting 2 1/2 years, has roof, fender and floor rust. needs new ignition...last time i had it running i had to touch a wire to the battery to start it...lol. havent decided if i should get it running and beat the living **** out of it or tear anything useful off it and scrap it. lol what you guys think? oh and it has the wood paneling down the side...

We're on the same boat man. These 2.8s last forever but man are they weak. Looking to swapping in the 3.4 but I dont wanna keep the transmission. Its going bad anyway. At around 55, it's not sure whether to stay in 3rd or 2nd.

Anybody know of any other transmission that will fit? With the 2.8 and the 3.4?

Used on Chevy 60 degree V6's, 4 cylinders and other FWD engines
2.0L (OHV I4), 2.2L (OHV I4), 2.5L (OHV "Iron Duke" I4), 2.8L (60* V6), 3.0L (90* V6), 3.1L & 3100 (60* V6), 3.3L & 3300 (90* V6), 3.4 & 3400 (60* V6), 3500 (60* V6), 3.6L (60* V6), 3800 (90*V6), 3.9L (60* V6), 4.1L V8, 4.5L V8, 4.9L V8

This is the bolt pattern for the gm 2.8 and other gm V-6 and a couple V-8 engine/tranny combos

transmissions are limited to the stock or the T-5 if you want a five speed manual, gm didn't have too many options on the trans side when it came to the 2.8
