I was out looking at cherokees yesterday and came across a 96 two door 4x4 5speed. All the body is intact new shocks water pump radiator and fan clutch,clutch is good now the only bad thing is there is a very noticeable lifter knock so is this a wise choice something easy to fix or walk away and look elseware.

How many miles does it have? lifter noise is not that uncommon. If it has alot of miles on it I would look elswhere.
How long since the clutch has been replaced?
Most xjs with 5speeds in them were the base models,plan janes.

Its got roughly 170k on it about 10k more then my 92 dont know when the clutch was replaced last current owner bought it drove it home and parked it cause the plow from his jk wont fit and I dont really care if its plane jane

for 1800 tho?? ehh i'd look for a cheaper jeep... cause for 1800 i'd expect it to be lifted or or something haha

Yeah I just looked at a 97 auto for the wife with 100k even and he wants like 900 buck this 96 Im posting about the guy wants close to what he paid for it so he outta luck cause Im now finding cherokees everyware and his best offer is 15hundred and thats it so movein on thanks guys
