Using my DIY smoke machine and a neighbor kid to work the bicycle pump I found a leak in the EVAP system. First I plugged the large hose where the intake air is filtered on the passenger side inner fender area. After I was unable to remove the schrader valve at the test port, I just pulled off the double rubber connector nearby and plugged the bottom hole and placed the smoke machine hose in the upper hole. Then I crawled under the vehicle while the kid pumped away. I saw nothing around the canister or fuel tank, but the kid told me he heard a hiss under the hood somewhere. That's when i moved forward and found a rubber connector between a plastic under-hood line and a metal firewall line spewing smoke on the drivers side. It looks like the plastic line goes over to the pump on the passenger side that runs a test on the system. May be other leaks, but need to plug this one before I move on for further testing. In the photo, the tip of the screwdriver is pointing/touching the leak site. Not the first place I thought to look.
