Default Ford Explorer - Ranger wheels fit XJ?

I see all kinds of full sets of alluminum wheels with good tires show up at local U- Pull It parts place. I tried 1 on a XJ there but the center hole seems a bit small. Is it as simple as using a rat tail file to open them up a bit or is there other issues in trying to use them on my XJ?

Lots of Jeeps and Fords are 5 X 4.5" bolt pattern, some are hub centric, some are lug centric......the XJ has a somewhat deep backspace at 5 1/4".

My son in law put his 92 ford ranger wheels on his 89 xj, he used an air dremel and just opened up the ford center hole and they fit just fine...Tj
