Default Ford 8.8 in your rig???

Guys, I really did search for "ford 8.8" in ANY section of this site with NO results coming back. Through my own looking I found a few post.
I have the article from Jeep Unlimited saved and have read the part that talks about what is needed for a YJ/XJ. I know I want to do this swap, just wondering if anyone here has done the swap and looking for any helpful hints.

Thanks
Jester

what is it that you want to know? its pretty much a direct bolt in with the exception of replacing the spring perches.

My rig is a '91 sport and I am in desperate need of a new rearend. My crappy D35 w/ABS finally lost a carrier bearing and took out EVERYTHING! I wanted to do this swap when I had my TJ and never did. The list of parts for the Cherokee seems REALLY short in comparison. Just seems too good to be true. Is it really that simple; Perches, brake proportioning valve and a rear flange adapter.

I did find this link in another thread that talked about the Ford 8.8 swap (THAT DIDN'T SHOW IN MY SEARCH) I'll repost it just so anyone who missed it the first time might see it.

Thanks for the reply.

yep its that easy! For good measure make sure you weld the tubes to the housing. And dont forget about shock mounts

Right on! Thanks Jones. It just seems too easy to be true. lol Guess it's time to go to the local yard and spend some money.
