Default Ford 8.8 vs Dana 44

I've been looking at a rear axle upgrade, I can't decide on the ford 8.8 w/ dick brakes or a Dana 44 out of a late model Cherokee. Are there any big differences between the two? What are they? I was planning on 35" tires and 4.88's with a locker ... not sure if that weighs in to the equation.

I've done both swaps. the 8.8 had larger tubes, axles. but it's held in by C clip. need to adapt the Ebrake cable. the 44 is non C clip and the E brake hooks right up. comes down to personal choice. I tell most people to go with the 8.8 since every thing is larger, and disk brakes.
