I havent seen anyone changing the M/cyl on the D35 disk upgrades. Swapping the proportioning valve from the donor vehicle would be wise on the D35 disk swap.
Now the older XJs its recomended to install the dual diaphram brake booster but he lists a 99 so that should be fine already.

With the 8.8 the explorer ebrake cables are said to work on the XJ and i would use a D35 proportioning valve from a disk brake ZJ also with the 8.8.

The Ebrake cable is like a bike cable I am sure I can weld up a braket and make it work. I have also read that a company makes a braket and or adaptor to just bolt up and make work.
As for the master cylinder and proportioning valve I have never heard of that?
I read a few tutorials about the 8.8 swap and I thought I read that other people had no issues with just hooking it up to the Jeep XJ setup and it worked great?
so not sure what you mean?
can you show a build thread where someone needed that stuff and why?
thanks

so whats this proportioning valve and where is it located, and how much of a pain will that be for me?
lol
my XJ is a 2001 and I am swapping out the 8.25 for the 8.8
I thought I read that it just hooks right up and the brakes work great without any mods?

any help/info is great and I am gathering all the info I need.

I have the axle home here and I am going to be hacking off all the mounts and the old brake lines as well.
I will weld on new mounts and bend my own lines, but I managed to get the ebrake cable with the axle so thats good.
I read a few people TUTs on how to hook them up so I should be fine there.

thanks guys

Brian
