Default Fog light help, Please.

My 95 has factory fog lights. Factory switch and all. PO put Hellas on it. he wired them to come on while the high beams are on, and the switch on,of course. They worked last night. now they dont. I checked #17 fuse and aux light fuse for continuity. all good. The switch lights up on all headlight settings except high beams now. When I select high beams the switch light goes out and the fog lights dont come on. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. I hate wires.

I would check the grounds, when the light goes out that says to me a lack of power. Remember that positive current flows to negitive ground. If you are using the factory grounds from the factory lights this may not be strong enough for higher powered hellas, run a new ground to unpainted metal.

Default Thanks

Im going to check now. the ground is tight, but like you said a larger ground on a better surface may be needed. it is on a painted surface too. And yes those Hellas are powerful. I couldnt believe how bright they were.

if they are 100 watters the stock wireing isn't gunna be enough, its only rated for 55 watt lights

Never never ground to a painted surface, scrap the paint off or sand. Grounds will cause all kinds of problems if not correct.

I dont understand how the lights could be power by the high beams but also interupted by the factory fog light switch. I think the best thing to do would be to Wire the lights to the battery and use the factory fog light switch to power a relay. This will eliminate one variable and will also give you the option to use the fog light with any headlight configuration.

Default Thanks for the clues.

It isnt fixed yet. Ive chased almost every inch of wire. it does look the same guage wire as what comes out of the lights. Now In probably take the dash out and pull the switch. check it. decide from there., all Ive seen is solid, so far.
