Yeah run the power of the battery to the switch and then run the power of the lights to the switch. And just hook the ground wire to a ground. That will make em work without a relay. I noticed when I hooked my relay. I had more battery volts then I did w/o it. I will always run a relay from now on.

Yes, but May I ask why? As I wouldn't recommend it.

No.

A relay is used to control the current for hi-amp draw loads...like yout fog lights.

Use the relay.

Just depends how much the lights draw and how many amps the switch is rated for.

You can do it tho. One will get more power than the other. So therefor be brighter. and it really depends On the watts of the lights. But I wouldn't run without it.

if you decide to not run a relay always put a fuse in the mix.

I was wondering how he would get more power with the one rather then the other as well. 12 V is 12 V. The relay is just small amperage controling a larger amperage in this case. With big enough wire and a switch and fuse that can handle it you aren't gaining anything by a relay.

Again the size of fuse depends on the wattage of lights and the amount of light your are running. If I remember right it is wattage devided by volts to give you the amps. Then multiply that by the amount of lights you have plus 10percent? gives you the fuse size. I think it has been awhile.

^ I'm pretty sure that is correct.
And when you run the power thru one wire and split to two wires if the lights are powerful enough you will get a voltage drop and and you'll have more amps go thru one light then the other. I'm pretty sure that's what goes down. But by one light having less it will be dimmer. If your fog lights are wired for a relay you have to use it or one will be dimmer. Or I mean you could run bigger gauge wire. The one light will be dimmer than the other.

To wire up the relay you will run your switch power to terminal 85. Ground Terminal 86. Run 12 volt fused with ignition to on to terminal 30 and hook your fog lights to terminal 87. Thats about it
