Fog Light Bulb Replacement
I have these cheap-o fog lights that I got from a friend of mine for like $10. They came from either walmart or autozone or one of those stores that sell the cheap lights. Surprisingly, the things are really bright for their size. I could literally block out the lens with a half dollar coin, but driving down the road I can kill my headlights and still see fine. My question is, can I change out the bulb to a blue higher wattage one to make them brighter? I like the yellowish hue to them now, but blue would be a nice contrast to my headlights and I could use a little extra light goin down the road. Right now I believe they are a 55w H3 bulb. I was thinkin a 100w H3 bulb in blue. It looks like I could replace the bulb pretty easily too. Just wonderin if anybody has done this before without problems.

A 100w bulb will melt the reflector inside (ask me how I know). Autozone sells a 2-pack of the blue 55w bulbs for like $13 and are pretty bright. They're cheaper than two of the single Sylvania white 55w bulbs. I don't remember the brand but look around where they have their lights displayed. They're usually close by. At my AZ, they are not in the same place as all the other bulbs. They're in a plastic box type package.

It will depend if the housing is plastic or metal. I put some 100w bulbs in mine but they do have a metal housing and the work fine. I have had them on for a long tome with no problems.

If they're the baja's, im pretty sure they all have a metal reflector and plastic housing. If the reflector is metal you'll be absolutely fine running 100 watts.

I think mine might actually be all metal, but I gotta check. Thanks guys! Hell, for $13 I don't mind experimenting a little. If I melt the lights, I'll just upgrade when christmas comes. haha. I'd rather not spend the money, but if breaks, might as well upgrade!

I would put up pics, but for some reason the site doesn't let me. I'll take some now and see what happens. It's dark out tho, so pics won't be the greatest. I have to steal my little sister's camera and it doesn't have the best quality on it. Gotta get me a camera soon.

How big of wires should I go with the upgrade? Mine are the regular size that comes with the kit. I think like 18 gauge or so.
